Ingredients

  • Flour 200-grams

  • Eggs 6

  • Butter 200-grams

  • Baking powder 2-teaspoons

  • Sugar (to taste)

  • Cardamom (as needed)

Directions

  • Beat sugar and butter together in a bowl until smooth.
  • Break eggs and separate whites from yolks.
  • Whisk egg whites until fluffy and foamy.
  • Add egg yolks to the butter-sugar mix and blend well until creamy.
  • Mix flour with baking powder.
  • Add the yolk-butter mix to the flour mix.
  • Fold in the beaten egg whites.
  • Add cardamom and mix it well.
  • Pour batter into a cake pan and bake in the oven for about 1 hour.
  • Simply cake is ready.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the batter to avoid a dense cake.
  • Check cake after 30-40 minutes; if top browns too fast, cover with foil.
  • Let cake cool before slicing.
