Directions
- Beat sugar and butter together in a bowl until smooth.
- Break eggs and separate whites from yolks.
- Whisk egg whites until fluffy and foamy.
- Add egg yolks to the butter-sugar mix and blend well until creamy.
- Mix flour with baking powder.
- Add the yolk-butter mix to the flour mix.
- Fold in the beaten egg whites.
- Add cardamom and mix it well.
- Pour batter into a cake pan and bake in the oven for about 1 hour.
- Simply cake is ready.
Notes
- Don’t overmix the batter to avoid a dense cake.
- Check cake after 30-40 minutes; if top browns too fast, cover with foil.
- Let cake cool before slicing.
